Ministry of Presence in the Holy Land

Yes, there’s a war in the Middle East. Obviously this trip would not be taking place if there was a significant risk or if flights
are unavailable. Now more than ever, however, we need to accompany our Palestinian Christian siblings in a time of
economic uncertainty and difficult sustainability. This pilgrimage for rostered leaders offers a unique opportunity to support the Christians of the Holy Land through sharing of our time, resources, and empathy. Our fellow Lutherans of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land often feel alone and forgotten – being present with them at Sunday worship and other opportunities for fellowship are important factors in sharing hope for a better world where walls become tables and peace with justice and equity becomes possible. Thanks to the generosity of Good Shepherd Travel, this opportunity is available for less than half the cost of other pilgrimages and includes airfare, hotel stays, and all meals. In addition to local Christian guides, you’ll be traveling with the Rev. Dr. Martin Otto-Zimmann, former ELCA missionary in Jerusalem. Space is limited. Applications will be reviewed on a first come, first served basis. Certain restrictions will apply.
